The Barbican App has seen a significant increase in user engagement, with over 1,400 registered users, and a web version is set to launch soon, according to a recent report.

The app, which has been modified to permit the uploading of multiple photos for documenting issues, is promoted as a primary communication tool by the Barbican Estate Office, which is pleased with the level of engagement and feedback received.

Dan Sanders, Director of Property and Estate Management for the Barbican Estate, presented the findings at the Barbican Estate Residents Consultation Committee meeting on Monday, 26 October 2026. The app's development aims to improve the timeliness of communication and resident engagement. Residents will be able to review documents on their desktop computers via the upcoming web version, which is expected to be released soon.

While the app is a popular communication tool and used to promote community initiatives and provide updates on estate matters, improvements are still required regarding its functionality for managing job tickets. Residents have voiced concerns about inconsistent provision of job numbers, the ability to track repairs, and the reliability of status updates, with some finding it easier to track repairs by telephone.
