Lambeth Council is set to review the approval process for the Brockwell Live event, following a decision made under the council's special urgency procedure. The Special Urgency Report sets out the decisions taken under the Council's Special Urgency Procedure since 22 January 2025, which are required to be reported to Council.
The decision to approve the event, which includes festivals such as Wide Awake, Field Day, and Mighty Hoopla, was made on 12 May 2025. A Special Urgency Report detailing the decision was presented at the Council meeting on 16 July 2025.
The report outlined that a Park Event Permit was approved and issued, allowing Brockwell Live to be held in Brockwell Park between 23 May and 1 June 2025. The report also approved the recommendations outlined in the Event Services Manager review and expenditure of £30,000 from the Event Operations revenue budget to support the event's delivery.
