Sutton Council to Connect to National Pensions Dashboard by October

Sutton Council is on track to connect to the national Pensions Dashboard by the government's deadline of 31 October 2025.

The national Pensions Dashboard is a government initiative to allow pension savers to view all their pensions online through one central platform. The council needs to work with an Integrated Service provider (ISP) to meet the deadline. According to a report pack presented at the Pension Board meeting on Thursday 17 July 2025, the process to finalise the appointment of the council's ISP is nearing completion, which was described as a significant milestone in the project. The report pack noted that the architecture was live and the first pension providers and schemes had successfully connected to the ecosystem. Consumer testing of the MoneyHelper pension dashboard was scheduled to begin in Summer 2025. The specific date when dashboards would be made available to the public was yet to be confirmed, but was anticipated to be sometime in 2026.

At the meeting, Tom, the Permanent Head of Pension Administration, gave an update on the project, saying that the team continues to work through the data. He also confirmed that since writing the paper, the council has procured the ISP software and has an implementation meeting scheduled for this afternoon. While the specific ISP was not named, Tom indicated that the decision to appoint a different provider was influenced by concerns regarding the performance and timeliness of software delivery from Civica. He added that the fund has carried out data protection impact assessments on the ISP to assess the validity and security of the data before passing any data to them, and that the government dashboard has also carried out its own data protection impact assessment on the validity of their dashboard as well.

Councillor Sunita Gordon, Lead Member for Resources, and Chair Jonathan Bunt were in attendance at the meeting, along with Anthony Kramer, Chris Reeve, Angela Russell, Kirstie Martin and William Cody.
