Hounslow Council is launching the Harmony Programme, a new initiative designed to support older adults affected by abuse, recognising that abusers can include adult children and grandchildren.
The announcement was made at the Hounslow Community Safety Partnership Board meeting on Thursday, 31 July 2025, where the board, including Jacqueline Duke (Head of Safer Partnerships and VAWG, LBH), reviewed the Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Plan 2023-2026, examining the end of year two report and outlining the year three delivery plan. The plan addresses key areas, such as improving support for those affected by VAWG, working together to prevent VAWG, and taking action against perpetrators. The VAWG plan aligns with the Safer Communities Strategy 2024-2027, which addresses the priorities of reducing serious crime, supporting vulnerable individuals, and enabling residents to work together to keep Hounslow safe.
The Hounslow Community Safety Partnership Board continues to deliver on its statutory duties, as required by the Crime and Disorder Act 1998 and related legislation. The board also received updates on the White Ribbon Action Plan and the Hounslow Youth Justice Plan 2025/26 at the meeting.
