A new commercial building featuring market space and offices is planned for Ely's Yard in Tower Hamlets, pending approval. The proposal, application PA/24/01439, was discussed at a Strategic Development Committee meeting on Thursday 31 July 2025.

The development aims to construct a part 4, part 5, and part 6-storey building, reaching approximately 29 metres in height. The building will house market space (Use Class E) at ground level and 4,500 square metres of office space (Use Class E(g)(i)) on the upper floors. Plans also include new landscaping and a pedestrian link.

Tower Hamlets planning officers are recommending that planning permission be granted, subject to conditions and a Section 106 agreement.
