Shacklewell Primary School in Hackney is set to receive a significant upgrade, with plans approved for a new roof and the installation of solar panels.
The Hackney Council has allocated £120,000 for the Shacklewell Primary School Roof Replacement and Solar Installation project in 2025/26. The funding will cover the roof recovery, associated works to the pitched windows and northlights, the installation of a guardrail, and the installation of a photovoltaic (PV) solar system at the school.
The decision was made during a recent council meeting where various capital projects were discussed and approved. The council aims to utilise capital receipts for investment and transformational revenue spend.
