Barnet Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee is reviewing the transition plan for the remaining elements of its contract with Capita, which covers customer services, IT, and revenues and benefits. The committee met on Thursday, 11 September 2025, to discuss the matter and prepare recommendations for the Cabinet. The committee was scheduled to receive an update and recommendations on the continued transition planning and approach to manage the remaining contractual elements under the Customer Service Group (CSG) Capita contract, and to consider the Capita Contract Review as pre-decision scrutiny.

The remaining contractual elements under the Customer Service Group (CSG) Capita contract are for Customer Services, IT and Revenues and Benefits service provision.

To ensure thorough oversight, the council established a cross-party member reference group to scrutinise the transition plan and inform future delivery options and appraisals, according to a report pack prepared for the meeting. The group will play a role in the ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the transition process.

Early market engagement has provided an opportunity to engage a range of supplier expertise, the report pack notes.

The Cabinet Forward Plan was also on the agenda for the meeting.
