Enfield Council's Overview & Scrutiny Committee is considering a joint meeting with the Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Panel to discuss the Local Plan, due to potential duplication in their work programmes. The Public Reports Pack suggests that a joint meeting would avoid duplication.

The Overview & Scrutiny Committee met on 8 September 2025, to review the draft work programmes for the coming year. The report highlighted that both the Overview & Scrutiny Committee and the Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Panel are scheduled to consider the Local Plan. According to the Public Reports Pack, both the Overview & Scrutiny Committee and Housing & Regeneration Scrutiny Panel are planning to scrutinize the Local Plan, although their focuses are different. To avoid duplication, it was suggested that a joint meeting of the two panels could be arranged.

The Local Plan sets out the framework for future development in the area, containing policies and proposals for the use of land and buildings, and guiding decisions on planning applications.
