Hounslow Council is set to redevelop the Brentford Fountain Leisure Centre as part of its Delivery Plan 2022-2026. The announcement came during a recent Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting where the council's strategic priorities and ongoing projects were discussed.
The redevelopment is a key priority within the council's Place Portfolio, which focuses on capital projects that improve services within specific areas. The Place Portfolio aims to shape and deliver sustainable, inclusive, and high-quality places across the borough through regeneration, housing, infrastructure, and public realm projects that meet the needs of current and future communities. This includes the progression of estate regeneration of approximately 900 homes at Covent Way, Southall.
Other priorities within the Place Portfolio include estate regeneration at Covent Way in Southall and the expansion of electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
The Delivery Plan 2022-2026 is divided into four portfolios: People, Place, Capital and Digital. The plan outlines the activities the council will undertake to meet the objectives set out in the Corporate Plan 2022-2026.
The council uses the One Hounslow Approach to Project and Programme Management (PPM) to ensure accountability and efficiency across different council projects. This approach is inspired by leading practice (PRINCE 2, Managing Successful Programmes, Agile) and provides a framework that is appropriate and proportionate for all of the diverse projects and programmes across the council.
