Sutton Council's Audit and Governance Committee convened on 23 October 2025, to review several key items concerning conduct, risk, insurance and complaints.
The meeting, held at the Civic Offices, included a discussion of the Code of Conduct Hearing Panel Outcome, which addressed specific breaches of the council's ethical guidelines. The committee, chaired by Councillor Colin Stears, also addressed the Annual Insurance Review, the Annual Complaints Report, and the Review Risk Register and Discuss Mitigation.
As part of the meeting, the committee reviewed the Annual Insurance Review to examine its key findings and recommendations.
The Annual Complaints Report for 2024-25 was also on the agenda, with a focus on the types of complaints most frequently reported.
Furthermore, the committee addressed the council's risk management strategies by reviewing the Risk Register and discussing mitigation efforts. This included a review of Appendix A: Corporate Risk Register to identify the most significant risks.
