Hounslow's Standing Advisory Council on Religious Education (SACRE) is set to discuss the teaching of Sikhi in local schools at its meeting on 22 October 2025. The council will convene at Edward Pauling Primary School to address this and other key issues related to religious education in the borough.
The agenda for the meeting, detailed in the Agenda frontsheet, includes a review of local updates, with a specific focus on Sikhi teaching in schools. This discussion aims to ensure that the religious education provided in Hounslow schools is comprehensive and reflective of the community's diverse faiths.
At a previous meeting on 7 July 2025, the SACRE discussed collective worship guidance. Stacey Burman, RE Advisor, presented information on Hounslow SACRE Determinations guidance. The presentation covered:

The Public reports pack also indicates that the council will address the Agreed Syllabus preparation for the AS Conference. The Agreed Syllabus was not discussed at the July meeting due to time constraints.
Other items on the agenda include national updates from Stacey Burman on RE Hubs, NASACRE, and Interfaith Week, as well as action planning based on the Hounslow SACRE Action Plan September 2025 document.
