Enfield Council has given the green light to the Fairer Enfield Policy 2026-30, a comprehensive plan designed to promote equality, celebrate diversity, and ensure inclusion for all its residents.

The policy aims to ensure everyone in Enfield has the opportunity to thrive, is treated with dignity and respect, and lives in strong, inclusive communities. It also seeks to tackle discrimination and hate crime, making Enfield a welcoming place for all. The Fairer Enfield Policy 2026-2030 includes a commitment to working with residents, staff, and partners to achieve these objectives and ensure the policy remains relevant and effective throughout its duration.

The decision was made at a Cabinet meeting on 5 November 2025, where members agreed to recommend the draft policy to the Full Council for final approval. The minutes of the meeting are available here.

The policy outlines six key objectives aimed at reducing inequality within the borough:

  • Ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive
  • Ensuring everyone is treated with dignity and respect
  • Promoting equality of opportunity
  • Building strong and inclusive communities
  • Tackling discrimination and hate crime
  • Making Enfield a welcoming place for all

The policy also includes a commitment to working collaboratively with residents, staff, and partners to achieve these objectives.
