A 22-storey building with 150 social rent dwellings could be coming to Wood Green, as part of a redevelopment proposal for Mallard Place, Coburg Road.
The Haringey Council Planning Sub Committee discussed the pre-application proposal on Thursday 6th November 2025. The plans include two buildings, the 22-storey building with an 8-storey wing, and a 14-storey building with a 6-storey wing. The development also aims to provide 539 square metres of affordable workspace and landscaped public areas.

The proposal includes plans for landscaped public areas
to benefit the existing community.
The Agenda frontsheet for the meeting indicates that this was a pre-application presentation, meaning no decision was taken at this time. Any subsequent applications will be the subject of a report to a future meeting of the Sub-Committee.
The meeting agenda also mentions that Councillors and officers have a duty to ensure that the public are consulted, involved and where possible, understand the decisions being made.
