Sutton is making strides towards its net zero goals, according to a presentation on Climate Scorecards at the Sutton Local Committee meeting on 6 November 2025. The presentation detailed actions taken towards net zero.
Helen John provided the update on actions taken towards net zero as part of the Climate Scorecards during the Community Showcase portion of the meeting. The agenda allocated 5-10 minutes for the presentation.
The meeting, held at The Salvation Army, also included discussions on the Sutton Town Centre Public Realm Regeneration plans and a Sutton Housing Partnership update, which included an update on housing service activity and investment in council properties within the boundaries of the Sutton Local Committee. Public questions were also addressed. Councillor Sam Cumber, Chair of the Sutton Local Committee, welcomed attendees. The minutes from the previous meeting on 19 June 2025 were approved, which included a summary of presentations by young people on safety, inclusivity, and mental health. A poem presented at the June meeting by a Young Commissioner is appended to the minutes.
Public questions addressed at the previous meeting included topics such as vehicles parked on the highway, new build housing, the location of land under the railway bridge in Langley Park Road. Mrs. John also asked a question regarding the launch of the 2025 Council Climate Action Scorecards, and indicated she had been made aware that the council was following up actions related to the scorecards.
