Sutton residents voiced their concerns and posed questions to the Sutton Local Committee at their meeting on 6 November 2025, covering topics ranging from highway parking to street tree policies.
The meeting, chaired by Councillor Sam Cumber, included a public question period. Residents can submit questions to the committee via a form on the Sutton Council website. To receive a written response before the meeting and be allowed a follow-up question, submissions must be made at least five working days in advance. Questions submitted within five working days will receive a written response after the meeting. The agenda also stipulated that questions had to be submitted via an online form.
Mr. Midgley, who had previously received a written response regarding caravans parked on the public highway, raised a supplementary question about vehicles parked on the highway for extended periods. Officers assured him that they would address his concerns outside of the meeting.
Mr. Hilson, also having received written responses, had questions concerning new build housing in the Sutton Central ward and the location of land under the railway bridge in Langley Park Road. He did not have any supplementary questions.
Mrs. John, another resident, followed up on her question regarding the launch of the 2025 Council Climate Action Scorecards. She noted that she had been informed that the council was actively pursuing actions related to the scorecards.
Additionally, Mrs. John inquired about the policy concerning street trees and the replacement of damaged ones. Officers committed to providing a response outside of the meeting.
