Perry Scott has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of Enfield Council, marking a significant leadership transition for the borough.
The appointment was confirmed during a Council meeting on Tuesday, 24 June 2025, where councillors also addressed a range of critical issues, including housing, financial management, and community concerns. The meeting underscored the council's commitment to addressing key challenges and delivering essential services to its residents.

One of the key items on the agenda was the approval of the Housing & Growth Strategy 2025-2030. This strategy sets out the council's vision for creating more and better homes in Enfield by working in partnership and bringing in long-term investment. The strategy outlines seven priorities, including building affordable homes, investing in council homes, tackling homelessness, and creating healthy, well-connected neighbourhoods.
Councillors also discussed a petition with 3,368 signatures asking the Council to withdraw investments from companies producing materials used in violations of international law. The council considered options for responding to the petition, including taking the action requested, commissioning further investigation, or making recommendations to the council executive.
The Council was asked to note the Treasury Outturn position for 2024/25, and to approve an update to the council's investment policy by increasing the limit on deposits placed with UK Banks from £5 million to £25 million, providing the counter party meets the minimum long term credit rating of A-.
Several motions were also debated, covering topics such as support for the Armed Forces Covenant, exemptions for blue badge holders in Low Traffic Neighbourhoods, men's mental well-being, and protection of Woodcroft Wildspace.
Councillor Ayten Guzel, Cabinet Member for Housing, presented a motion reaffirming the council's commitment to providing high-quality public services, strong support for the workforce, action on the climate crisis, and inclusive communities.
