The plan calls for a single-storey rear extension, measuring 4.0m in depth and spanning the full width of the dwelling. The dual-pitched roof design includes rooflights and a render finish to match the existing property. The extension aims to enlarge the kitchen and dining space, and add a ground floor toilet and utility room.

While one objection was received regarding potential construction-related access issues to a private garage, the committee ultimately found the extension to be in line with development plan policies. The report stated, The development plan is generally supportive of people extend or altering their homes. As such, the principle of development is supported subject to an assessment of detail.

The committee determined that the extension's scale, design, and materials would preserve the character of the host dwelling and its surroundings. Furthermore, it was concluded that the proposal would not introduce any unacceptable harmful impacts to the living conditions of neighbouring properties. The report recommended that planning permission should be granted subject to the imposition of suitable planning conditions.
