Bromley Council is weighing several options for the future of its library service, ranging from maintaining the status quo to reducing opening hours and potentially closing some libraries. These options are detailed in the Options Appraisal report.
The Bromley Council Executive met on Wednesday 26 November 2025 to discuss the report, titled Options Appraisal - Future of the Library Service. Further details on the options being considered are available in App. 1 - Options Appraisal.
Members of the public were able to submit questions relating to the work of the committee, up to 10 working days before the date of the meeting. Questions seeking clarification of the details of a report on the agenda may be accepted within two working days of the normal publication date of the agenda – by 5pm on Thursday 20 November 2025.
The meeting also covered budget monitoring, housing delivery, the council tax support scheme, and the procurement strategy for education capital works. The Agenda for the meeting is available online.
