Camden Council is streamlining its My Reward Scheme by removing the 1% payment option and moving to a single 2% reward for staff. The decision, which aims to ensure Camden's pay and reward framework remains equitable, transparent, and sustainable in the current economic and labour market context, was made as part of the council's wider Pay and Performance Review – Phase Two.

The change was discussed at the Audit and Corporate Governance Committee meeting on Thursday, 27 November 2025. The Review of Pay Scheme report sought the committee's approval for the proposed change, aligning with the council's broader goals for employee compensation and benefits.

According to the report, The proposal is intended to improve equity, simplicity, and budget consistency in how performance-related recognition is applied across the organisation while maintaining flexibility for managers to recognise exceptional contributions.

The council hopes the move to a single 2% reward will simplify the scheme and ensure a more consistent approach to performance-related recognition across the organisation.
