Islington Council is facing £93,000 in fines from the Housing Ombudsman due to maladministration, according to a recent Homes and Communities Scrutiny Committee meeting. A significant portion of these fines, 65%, are related to repair issues within council housing.
Councillor Michael O'Sullivan requested information on the fines that Islington had incurred from the Housing Ombudsman for maladministration. Ian Swift, Director of Housing Operations, explained that the fines totalled £93,000 over the last 12 months, with a majority stemming from repair-related issues.
