Barnet has secured an additional three years of substance misuse funding, set to run from 2026/27 to 2028/29, with the protected drug and alcohol budget seeing an increase. The total allocation for next year is just over £4.3 million, rising to just over £4.7 million by the end of the three-year period.
This funding will enhance support for LGBTQ+ individuals and those involved in chemsex, as outlined in a recent report. Proposed plans for the grant include 'improved LGBTQ+ and chemsex support'.
