Improvements to the play area at Wormwood Scrubs on Braybrook Street are nearing completion, with the second phase of works set to commence in early April. The project, which includes the installation of a new play structure, safety surfacing, and fencing, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance facilities within the popular green space.

During a Wormwood Scrubs Charitable Trust Committee meeting on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, members received a comprehensive update on the scheme. Key outcomes from the meeting included the approval of the annual report and financial statements for the year ended 31 March 2025, and the approval of a pilot workforce plan for the 2026/27 financial year. A £20,000 uplift was also approved for the Linford Christie Stadium running track upgrade.

Phase one of the Braybrook play improvements scheme has already been completed. The committee also noted updates on the AEM Masterplan procurement, KAA2 site re-instatement, grounds maintenance, MUGA improvement works, BALI Awards 2025, and a community safety report.

These play area upgrades are among several capital investments planned for Wormwood Scrubs in the 2026/27 financial year, aimed at improving the overall experience for visitors and the local community.
