Hillingdon Council has approved a £1.1 million contract for a new cyber recovery solution aimed at bolstering its digital defenses and ensuring the resilience of essential services.

The decision was made during a Cabinet meeting on Thursday, June 25, 2026, where councillors accepted a single tender from Rubrik, delivered via their partner Cisilion Ltd. This contract, secured through the SBS Digital Workplace Solutions Framework, will provide data protection and cyber recovery suites covering on-premise, cloud (Microsoft Azure), M365, and account identity infrastructure.

The three-year contract, set to commence on July 13, 2026, is valued at approximately £1,123,454. The solution is intended to strengthen the Council's digital resilience, ensure best practice and protect essential services by delivering NCSC Cyber Assessment Framework (CAF) aligned cyber recovery capability. While the specific types of cyber threats Hillingdon Council is most concerned about were not detailed, the new system will enhance protection across its digital infrastructure.

Authority for further decisions required to implement this contract has been delegated to the Chief Operating Officer, in consultation with Councillor Richard Mills, Cabinet Member for Corporate Services, Digital & Transformation.
