Hounslow Council's Cabinet has approved the commencement of procurement for new specialist children's support services and therapies, aiming to enhance provision for young people with diverse needs.

The decision, made during a meeting on Tuesday, 14 July 2026, greenlit the procurement of a Specialist Support and Therapies Framework with a maximum duration of eight years and a total contract value of up to £40.652 million. This framework will encompass a range of essential services, including Speech and Language Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Educational Psychology, and Alternative Provision outreach.

Additionally, a one-year direct award, with a potential one-year extension, was approved for West London NHS Trust for Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy services within maintained Special Education Need Centres and Resource Provisions. This direct award is specifically designed to maintain current provision during the transition period while the broader framework procurement is completed, ensuring continuity of care for children currently receiving these vital services.
