Waltham Forest Council has pledged to support residents in conservation areas looking to install solar panels, following a question raised at a recent council meeting.
Councillor Andrew Dixon specifically highlighted the Walthamstow Village Conservation Area, asking what steps the council was taking to assist residents there and in other conservation zones with solar panel installations.
In response, Councillor Eva Tabbasam, Deputy Leader for Housing and Regeneration, confirmed the council is actively exploring options
to facilitate solar energy access for all residents. This includes a particular focus on ensuring that marginalised individuals, private renters, and those in social housing can benefit from solar power.
While specific details on these options are still being finalised, Councillor Tabbasam indicated that further announcements are expected. Residents are advised to stay tuned
for updates, with the council also offering to provide a written update once a clearer picture of the possibilities emerges.
