Alexandra Infant School is set to receive a new gazebo, intended to provide shelter and shade within the existing play area, after councillors approved a planning application for its installation.
The Plans Sub-Committee No. 1 of Bromley Council met on Thursday, August 13, 2026, and granted permission for the removal of an existing gazebo-type structure and the erection of a replacement.
The application, referred to the committee because the site is council-owned, was recommended for approval by officers. They stated that the new structure would not detract from the character and appearance of the property or the street scene, and that the impact on neighbouring properties would be acceptable.

The decision was made following a review of the plans, which can be found in the Public reports pack Thursday 13 August 2026 19:00 Plans Sub-Committee No. 1. The committee's decisions are detailed in the Decisions Thursday 13 August 2026 19:00 Plans Sub-Committee No. 1. Further information regarding the agenda for the meeting is available in the Agenda frontsheet Thursday 13 August 2026 19:00 Plans Sub-Committee No. 1.
