Islington Council's new finance management system, supplied by OneTechnology, is reportedly progressing well
with no issues identified in income receipts or payment runs since its go-live in July.
The update was provided during the Overview and Scrutiny Committee meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026, as part of the Chair's report. Councillor Paul Convery, Executive Member for Finance, confirmed that the system has successfully handled several payment runs without problems.
The smooth operation is attributed to the system's robust handling of core financial tasks, including income receipts and payment runs. The finance team is diligently checking every aspect of the new system and incrementally introducing its new functionality.
The new system, which originates from Australia and New Zealand, is one of the first UK local authority customers for OneTechnology. The council secured a competitive price for being an early adopter. Key tasks such as mapping cost centres, bank reconciliation, and migration of balances are still scheduled.
