Braybrook Park's play areas are set to receive a significant boost with the approval of phase three improvements, building on the completion of the first two stages of upgrades. The Wormwood Scrubs Charitable Trust Committee met on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to discuss a range of updates, including the progress on the Braybrook Play Areas. Work on the initial two phases of improvements has already been completed at a cost of £195,293.
Phase three of the project, which has an allocated budget of £100,000, will introduce further enhancements to both the under-eights and over-eights play zones. For younger children, this will involve the installation of two shade units to cover existing picnic benches, three new benches, and the replacement of the timber climbing frame, which has reached the end of its lifespan.
In the over-eights area, phase three will see the addition of one shaded area and two new benches. Additionally, two existing bins and one bench will be relocated to be within the fenced area. Low-level timber fencing and gates, designed to match the under-eights play area, will also be installed.
Further enhancing the facilities, a three-way basketball hoop is slated for installation in the over-eights section. The committee also noted that options for a water fountain are being considered.
