Hillingdon Council has reaffirmed its opposition to the expansion of Heathrow Airport, citing concerns about the environment and the well-being of residents. The council notes the well documented detrimental impact on the environment, as well as the adverse impact on the health and well-being of a significant number of residents within our borough that a third runway at Heathrow Airport would have, according to the motion from Councillor Peter Curling.

The motion, proposed by Councillor Peter Curling, Leader of the Hayes Independent Group, was discussed at the council meeting on 10 July 2025, as outlined in the Agenda frontsheet. It highlights the potential detrimental effects of a third runway on the borough.

The council has long opposed the expansion, and this motion reinforces its stance against the project. The motion, detailed in the Motions document, notes the devastating impact that a third runway, at Heathrow airport, would have on our borough and its residents.
