The new Platinum Jubilee Leisure Centre in West Drayton has been met with an overwhelmingly positive response from residents, with approximately 2,000 visitors attending its free open weekend and over 1,700 signing up for health memberships since its opening.
Councillor Wayne Bridges, Cabinet Member for Residents' Services, reported on the success of the new facility during a council meeting on Thursday, September 24, 2026. He highlighted that residents of all ages and backgrounds have been making full use of the accessible and inclusive facilities.
Councillor Bridges stated that measures have been put in place to ensure the accessibility and inclusivity of the facilities for individuals with disabilities or specific needs. The centre's swim school has also seen significant engagement, with around 700 residents participating.
Councillor Bridges thanked GLL and council officers for their efforts in bringing the leisure centre to fruition.
