Hillingdon Council is considering implementing an entrance fee for visitors from outside the borough to Ruislip Lido, following a request from a member of the public. The issue was raised during a recent council meeting on 10 July 2025, where councillors discussed a range of topics.
Jash Patel, a resident of Ruislip, submitted a question to Councillor Eddie Lavery, Cabinet Member for Community & Environment, urging the council to consider the fee. Patel highlighted a recent article that showcased Ruislip Lido as a secret sandy beach
easily accessible from central London, potentially leading to an influx of visitors. He argued that Hillingdon residents, who pay council tax, would bear the brunt of increased usage and parking issues in the surrounding area.
The request is under consideration by the council, but no decision has been made.
