Tower Hamlets Council is considering a report that would require a full council vote for any severance package for an employee exceeding £100,000.
The council meeting on 16 July 2025, covered a range of topics, including a report concerning the Localism Act 2011 and the approval process for exit payments. According to the exit payments cover report, any severance package for an employee of £100,000 or more is already subject to a vote of full council for approval.
The meeting was presided over by Councillor Suluk Ahmed, the Speaker of the Council.
