Croydon Council's Cabinet is considering a recommendation to revise the funding model for child safeguarding, aiming for a more equitable approach. This follows discussions of the Croydon Safeguarding Children Partnership Annual Report 2023-24 at a Cabinet meeting held on Wednesday, 23 July 2025.
The need for a more equitable funding model is highlighted in Appendix 1 - CYP 18-03-25 Recommendations.
The Scrutiny Stage 1 Report - July 2025 from the Scrutiny and Overview Committee included input from the Children & Young People Sub-Committee, the Scrutiny & Overview Committee, and the Streets & Environment Sub-Committee. The report highlights potential opportunities for the council to enhance monitoring and evaluation of delivered work, in addition to pursuing more equitable funding solutions.
The Cabinet is expected to respond to the recommendation in a Scrutiny Stage 2 Report - 23 July 2025 at a future meeting.
