Enfield Council is set to review its cleaning services following concerns raised by the opposition, aiming to address issues such as uncollected rubbish and fly-tipping. The decision was made during a recent council meeting where the Opposition Group presented an issues paper calling for urgent action.

The Opposition Group's paper, available on the council website here, highlighted problems such as uncollected rubbish, increased fly-tipping, and the declining state of parks and public spaces. The paper suggests that the current frequency of bin and recycling collections is less than weekly and notes that recycling rates in Enfield are low compared to Bromley (49%) and Ealing (48%).

The Opposition Group's proposals included reinstating weekly bin and recycling collections, hiring more waste enforcement officers, and expanding the coverage of fly-tip cameras. Enfield Council currently employs 12 waste enforcement officers. The council currently has 12 mobile fly-tip cameras in place.

The council considered the issues paper prepared by the Opposition Group regarding cleaning up Enfield.

The next council meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, 12 November 2025.
