The Hounslow South, Isleworth and Osterley & Spring Grove Area Forum convened on Tuesday, 14 October 2025, to address rising crime concerns in the borough.

Farzana Wangde from Safer Community was scheduled to provide updates on recent incidents in Osterley and Spring Grove, as well as an assault in Hounslow South. The agenda for the meeting, which took place at West Thames College, included a police update and a question and answer session.

Minutes from the previous meeting on 26 June 2025, included in the Public Reports Pack, revealed that knife crime was previously discussed, following the death of Dara Omar, a West Thames College student. Councillor Karen Smith, Chair of the Forum, took time to recognise and reflect on the life of Dara Omar, leading a minute's silence to honour him. Councillor Smith invited attendees to watch a short video on knife crime, produced by a West Thames student and a police officer.

During the open forum at the June meeting, a resident asked why knife crime had become so bad in Hounslow. Safer Communities responded that the issue was being managed through a coordinated approach and the use of CCTV. They added that Hounslow was statistically a low-crime area and encouraged residents to report crime to Ward Panels.

Councillor John Stroud-Turp added that Hounslow has a good network of CCTV located in areas where they are most needed, determined through analysis of local crime reports. These cameras are considered effective and are regularly reviewed. Councillor Sayyar Raza confirmed that the camera network is moved as needed to high-crime areas from time to time.
