Hounslow Council has amended the authority for awarding a new parking enforcement contract, shifting the responsibility from the Director of Communities to the Director of Environmental Services.
The decision was made during the Cabinet meeting on 11 November 2025, where members discussed a review of the council's enforcement operations and a new operating model. The amendment specifically alters recommendation 2 of the Enforcement Review New operating model report.
The original recommendation stated:
Authorise the commencement of the procurement of a new Parking Enforcement contract and delegate the authority to award the new contract to the Director of Communities in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Community Safety, Customer Services, and Enforcement
The amendment changes this to:
Authorise the commencement of the procurement of a new Parking Enforcement contract and delegate the authority to award the new contract to the Director of Environmental Services in consultation with the Cabinet Member for Infrastructure Recycling & Transformation.
