A car park at Oakley House in Kensington and Chelsea is set to be transformed into two Class E commercial units, following a decision by the Kensington and Chelsea Planning Applications Committee on Tuesday, 24 June 2025. The approval marks a shift from parking to commercial, business, or service uses for the space.

The committee, chaired by Councillor Mackover, approved the application along with several others, including works to Kensal House and applications concerning Holland Park and Victoria Gardens. The meeting, which ran for several hours, also saw the refusal of applications related to Sunningdale Gardens and Palace Place Mansions, and a deferred decision on Earl's Court Square.

Class E units can be used for commercial, business or service purposes.

Other decisions made by the committee included:

  • Approved listed building consent for the replacement of flat entrance doors to meet current fire regulations at Kensal House.
  • Approved planning permission and listed building consent for the installation of two air source heat pump units and associated internal units at 67 Holland Park.
  • Approved planning permission for the creation of a roof terrace at 21 Victoria Gardens.
  • Approved planning permission for the installation of an air source heat pump in the rear garden at 8 Queensdale Walk.
  • Approved planning permission to replace the existing timber shed with a metal clad insulated unit at The Feeney Arms.
  • Approved advertisement consent for the replacement of two existing LED digital displays with smaller displays and a living wall at 106 Cheyne Walk.
  • Approved the discharge of condition 4f relating to an entrance door and canopy at Treadgold House.
