Kensington and Chelsea Council's Fairer Action Plan
is showing progress, but significant inequalities persist across the borough, according to a recent report.
The plan, which aims to address fairness and inclusion, has seen 7.5 out of 18 actions completed in its first year, with substantial headway made on the remaining commitments.
Key achievements highlighted in the Fairer Action Plan and Equalities Annual Report 2025-2026
include the launch of the plan itself, improvements to Equality Impact Assessments (EqIAs), and the co-production of a Disabled Residents Forum in partnership with Action Disability Kensington and Chelsea (ADKC).
However, the report acknowledges ongoing challenges, particularly concerning inequalities in health and employment. These issues continue to affect residents unevenly across the borough, particularly in the most deprived wards.
Deprivation remains concentrated in a relatively small number of areas, with 3% of the borough's Lower Super Output Areas falling within the most deprived 10% nationally. These are concentrated in Chelsea Riverside and Dalgarno wards, with the most deprived wards overall remaining as Golborne, Dalgarno, Notting Dale, and Chelsea Riverside.

Despite these persistent issues, wider equalities work across council services is also noted. The Public Health Team's £2.3 million Community Public Health Programme is working with voluntary and community sector partners to tackle health inequalities and improve health literacy.
