Westminster Council's Planning Sub-Committee is slated to review a proposal for new hotel rooms at 53 Chandos Place, among other planning applications, at its meeting on 24 June 2025. The application, submitted by Z Hotels Ltd, seeks permission for a roof extension to convert an existing residential dwelling into 16 new hotel rooms, along with the addition of three residential homes on a new sixth floor.

The meeting, scheduled to be held at Westminster City Hall, will also address planning applications for a school, a department store, and residential dwellings at other locations in the city. According to the meeting summary, objections to the Chandos Place proposal have been received from the Covent Garden Area Trust and local residents, primarily concerning the design and amenity impacts of the roof extension.
