Hampstead tenants are seeking funding for several community projects, including improved door entry systems, wellbeing activities, and secure bike storage.
At a Hampstead District Management Committee (DMC) meeting on Thursday 26 June 2025, several bids were put forward for consideration. The 15 Belsize Avenue TRA requested £10,000 towards a new video door entry system. The Hampstead Sheltered Housing Scheme x4 requested £16,820 for wellbeing activities and equipment for residents. The Sidney Boyd TRA requested £4,200 for a secure bike shed at Sidney Boyd Court.
The Hampstead DMC also considered a bid for £26,575 to purchase three deployable CCTV cameras to address anti-social behaviour in the district. A report from the Community Safety Team Leader noted that drug use and rough sleeping were the top anti-social behaviour activities in the Hampstead DMC area from April 2024 to April 2025.
The committee also discussed housing and property performance, reviewing key performance indicators (KPIs) and tenant satisfaction measures (TSMs). The Director of Property Management provided an update on the performance management of services delivered in-house and by contractors across Housing & Property Services. The Tenant & Leaseholder Engagement Code of Conduct sets out the expected behaviours for tenants and leaseholders involved in engagement activities with the council.
The meeting also covered topics such as tree management contractors' performance, property services and housing management, a residents' learning programme, and a quarterly tenant engagement report. Councillor Nancy Jirira (Deputy Leader of the Opposition) and Councillor Robert Thompson were in attendance as observers.
