Ealing Council's Cabinet has approved a development agreement and lease with Countryside Properties (UK) Limited for the disposal of the Gurnell residential site. The decision, made at a meeting on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, is part of a wider plan to fund a new leisure centre at the Gurnell Leisure Centre site.
The residential development is considered enabling development
for the new leisure centre, meaning its proceeds will help finance the construction of the new facility. The agreement will also contribute to meeting the borough's housing targets set by the Greater London Authority (GLA).
Authority has been delegated to the Strategic Director for Economy and Sustainability to finalise the development agreement and lease, and to take all necessary steps to facilitate the project. The report detailing this decision can be found in the Gurnell residential site disposal adjacent to Gurnell Leisure Centre
document.
