Merton Council's Overview and Scrutiny Committee has formally agreed its work programme for the upcoming year, with the aim of holding the Council's Executive (the Cabinet) to account to ensure the right decisions are made for the Borough and to identify ways to improve council services and develop new policies to meet the needs of local people.

The committee met on Wednesday, March 11, 2026, to review and approve the proposed work programme. Several topics were identified for future consideration, including the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, a review of the Member Survey results, and the Scrutiny Annual Report. The committee also noted ongoing work to support the CfGS review.

The review of the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy is expected to include information on how the council serves disabled residents, with services for disabled drivers being a specific focus. This information will be presented in a report.

The Topic suggestions for July section in the OSC Work Programme 2025-2026 document suggests that the Equality, Diversity & Inclusion strategy, Member Survey results, and Scrutiny Annual Report are intended for consideration around July.
