Islington Council has agreed to join a Pan-London Procurement initiative for postal goods and services, a move expected to enhance value for money and service resilience.

The decision was made by the council's Executive at a meeting on Wednesday, March 25, 2026. This collaborative effort includes 22 other London boroughs.

Councillor Santiago Bell-Bradford, Deputy Leader and Executive Member for Inclusive Economy, Culture & Jobs, highlighted the strategy's benefits. This is really good that we're always looking at how we strengthen and save the money working with other boroughs, he stated. The initiative is anticipated to secure better value for money through this collaborative approach.

The initiative also supports the council's transition towards a centralised digital post room. Further details on the council's executive meetings can be found in the Agenda frontsheet 25th Mar 2026.
