Havering's outgoing Mayor, Councillor Sue Ospreay, has raised a remarkable £88,000 for her chosen charity, the MCA Trust, during her year in office. The announcement was made at the Havering Council meeting on Wednesday, May 27, 2026.
The MCA Trust supports local children with cancer and their families when they are going through some pretty rubbish times

Councillor Ospreay highlighted that a host of different events
took place throughout the year to achieve this impressive total. These included the Prince and Princess Ball, cake days, civic dinners and raffles.
She also mentioned participating in the London Mayor's Whittington Walk
and three showings of the Peter Pan Panto.
Reflecting on her year, Councillor Ospreay expressed gratitude to her team, family, and friends for their unwavering support. It's by far the absolute best opportunity to unite and embrace all good things in our community,
she stated, reflecting on her mayoral duties. What a fabulous spotlight to shine on my favourite charity, the wonderful MCA Trust.
