A decision on a proposed housing development in Eltham has been put on hold, as Greenwich councillors have requested a site visit to better understand the location. The Royal Borough of Greenwich Local Planning Committee met on 7 July 2025, and deferred a decision on the application for the erection of five, four-bedroom dwellings to the rear of 5-25 Sparrows Lane, London, SE9 2BP.

Councillor Gary Dillon, Chair of Planning, requested the site visit, stating he wanted to see the location after reviewing it on Google Maps. The committee voted in favour of deferring the decision to allow for the visit.

The application, reference 24/1554/F, seeks planning permission for the erection of five, four-bedroom dwellings to the rear of 5-25 Sparrows Lane. A similar application for nine houses was withdrawn in 2004.
