Harrow Council's Cabinet has approved an increase in funding for the Homes for Ukraine scheme, raising the total programme expenditure to an estimated maximum of £4.7 million. This decision aims to ensure the continued delivery of support to Ukrainian households fleeing the conflict.
The £4.7 million allocated for the Homes for Ukraine Programme is an estimated maximum expenditure designed to support ongoing delivery and ensure continuity of services. This includes £200,000 set aside for contingency. The programme aims to provide essential services such as casework support, housing assistance, safeguarding measures, and integration services for Ukrainian households, in line with government requirements.
Councillor Janet Mote, Portfolio Holder for Community and Culture, thanked the team for their work on the programme. The programme's total estimated value for the period 2022 to 2028 is £4.7 million. The increased funding reflects ongoing government financial support and the Council's continued responsibility to assist Ukrainian households.
