Kensington and Chelsea Council has appointed a new Executive Director of Organisational Strategy. The appointment was made following an interview by the council's Appointments Panel.
The panel, which included Cllr Elizabeth Campbell (Leader of the Council), Cllr Monica Press (Leader of the K+C Labour Group), Cllr Tom Bennett (Lead Member for Modernisation and Change), and Cllr Cem Kemahli (Lead Member for Housing), met on Monday, July 13, 2026.
The interview for the Executive Director of Organisational Strategy was held as an exempt item (Part B) of the meeting. This means that the press and public were excluded from this part of the proceedings. The council stated that this exclusion was necessary because the report contained information relating to an individual, and that in the circumstances, the public interest in maintaining confidentiality outweighed the public interest in disclosure. This decision was made in accordance with paragraphs 1 and 2 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972.
The meeting agenda also included items such as apologies for absence, declarations of interest, and any other urgent oral or written items.
