A council-owned care home is set to begin offering nursing care, following a decision by Hillingdon Council's Shareholder Committee.
The Burroughs Care Home, operated by The Hillingdon Care Company, has been registered to include nursing care, a move that aims to expand its services and provide greater benefits to residents.
The decision was confirmed during a Shareholder Committee meeting on Thursday, September 17, 2026. The committee received updates on The Hillingdon Care Company, including the acquisition of The Burroughs and the completion of all legal and operational steps. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has also registered the home to include nursing care, with a Registered Manager now in place.
Officers were commended for their work in developing the new company and expanding its service offering. The committee also noted the acquisition of The Burroughs from Care UK and acknowledged the findings of an independent inspection.
