The North West London Joint Health Overview and Scrutiny Committee (JHSOC) convened on Thursday, 17 July 2025, to discuss maternity provisions in North West London, among other key healthcare issues.
The meeting, held at the Civic Centre in Uxbridge, included a discussion on adult mental health services, the reconfiguration of the Integrated Care Board (ICB), and a review of the JHSOC's recommendations tracker and work programme for 2025/26. According to NHS England, Integrated Care Boards bring together NHS organisations and local authorities to plan and deliver joined up health and care services.
Attendees included Councillor Chetna Halai, among other councillors from various boroughs. The agenda for the meeting outlined the key discussion points, including maternity provisions, adult mental health, and the ICB reconfiguration. The public reports pack provided further information for the committee members.
For safety and accessibility, security measures were in place at the meeting, including searches of individuals and their belongings. Attendees were required to provide satisfactory proof of identity upon arrival, and refusal to comply resulted in nonadmittance. These security protocols are planned for future meetings as well.
The meeting was held in person, and was also broadcast on the Council's YouTube channel. Residents and media were welcomed to attend and report on the proceedings, with WiFi access provided.
