The extension of bus route 315 into the Springfield Hospital development remains on track, according to a Transport for London (TfL) update at the Passenger Transport Liaison Group meeting on Thursday, 25th September 2025.
The Passenger Transport Liaison Group convened to discuss various public transport matters, with a key focus on the bus route 315 extension. The agenda included an update from TfL on the project.
Minutes from the previous meeting on 13 May 2025, included in the reports pack, indicated that changes to the 315 bus route had been actioned with an aim to provide a better service which would include the new residential developments at Springfield Hospital. At that meeting, councillors were assured that both bus routes would be continuously reviewed to balance customer demands and value for money with service delivery.
During the previous meeting, councillors raised concerns and questions regarding the bus route extension, including potential congestion issues. In response, TfL stated that no congestion problems had been identified by their Performance Team. The TfL representative requested that any complaints or problems reported by councillors or local residents be directed to TfL to assist them with bus service monitoring work. The TfL representative also noted feedback that the bus routes had a higher level of users from the older demographics, and he confirmed that this would be taken into consideration and the information shared with the Bus Planning Team.
The Bus Quality of Service Indicators report was also reviewed at the meeting. The report contains data on bus performance in the borough between 1 April 2025 and 20 June 2025.
